Marruecos es el primer exportador de fosfato a nivel mundial. Y el fosfato saharaui contribuye a que su posición sea predominantes, a través de la mina de Boucraa, en el Sahara Occidental. El Parlamento marroquí acaba de articular un proyecto en el que se ha acordado colaboración con Francia para “el uso pacífico de la energía nuclear”, a través de la explotación del uranio y los fosfatos.

La isla Robben o isla de las focas ha pasado a la historia por ser el lugar donde Nelson Mandela estuvo encarcelado 18 de los 28 años que permaneció en prisión, aunque Madiba no fue el único que sufrió encierro y penurias en la isla, pues desde la llegada de los holandeses en el siglo XVII este lugar sirvió de prisión.
